March 2011

March began with another cousin's celebration of Rhadei's birthday. It's wonderful that Willow can get together with all her cousins!!! Lucy began to pull her self up, grabbing things off the coffee table. She is starting to cruise by the end of the month. She has been preferring butt-scooting to crawling, though she can crawl too. We were able to meet Craig Jr., Dana's son; he is so much smaller than Lucy. We spent a few days visiting Chad & Tami and the girls. Molly loved being on a farm and playing with Cougar. We tried to enjoy the family time we had. Mandy continued to sub, until Andy began work the last week of March. Mandy officially became a SAHM for now.

Rhadei's Birthday Party

Another celebration with all the cousins.

February 2011

This month Mandy was able to do quite a bit of subbing. Andy has been taking the girls to the library storytime, which is really good for them. I always loved books and the library; I hope we can pass that love on. Wisconsin had some pretty big protests going on at the Capitol this month. Mandy went down there with Andrea, and then our whole family went down there on a Friday. It was an amazing experience. I never thought I would see a large-scale protest in my lifetime. This was all very personal, as it will affect my future as a teacher in Wisconsin. I finally finished all my licensure paperwork and the girls were weighed etc. Willow already 38lbs 13oz and 41.5in. and Lucy 19.5lbs and 25.25in. They are growing so fast. Lucy finally decided to eat baby food at eight months old. I know it doesn't matter, especially with her abundance of breastmilk, but I was getting pretty frustrated that she wasn't interested for so long. Willow was never that resistant or picky. ;)

January 2011

With the new year came new experiences. This month was Mandy's last month student teaching; it seemed to go by so fast, the students knowing I would leave soon, giving up my classes, trying to finish my licensing paperwork etc., and prepping to give Semester Exams. I set up to sub at Fort and Whitewater, but when I was done with student teaching it felt so weird to have nothing to do; time passes differently, more like summer when I was a kid. I really missed being a teacher and part of the Fort Atkinson High School community.
